Meet the host

Joey’s introduction to the arcade realm began with the vibrant sounds and neon lights of a Chuck-E-Cheese on his 11th birthday. With the roll of a ball, a lifelong passion for Skee-Ball was ignited. This love for the game accompanied Joey when he moved to San Francisco in 2008, where he stumbled upon a competitive league called Brewskee-Ball. The world of competitive Skee-Ball was not just about the game for Joey; it was about the community, the friendships, and the fierce spirit of competition.

Determined to make his mark, Joey took to the national stage in Brooklyn by 2010. Despite the talent he showcased, he found himself bested by an opponent named Skee-Diddy. Unwilling to let this setback define him, Joey made a bold move: he purchased a Skee-Ball machine on eBay and installed it in his compact SF apartment. This machine was more than a purchase; it was a commitment. Through endless hours of practice and refining his skills, Joey returned to the national championships in 2011 with a vengeance, securing the coveted title of the world's best Skee-Ball player. This was no flash in the pan; he defended his title in 2012, experienced the humbling sting of loss in 2013, but roared back to victory in 2014.

While the competitions played out, Joey was quietly building an empire. The same determination that saw him rise in the Skee-Ball community also drove his venture of installing arcade games in various venues around the Bay Area. From bars to bowling alleys, Joey's arcade operator side hustle grew, and so did his reputation.

The roller-coaster of competition continued. In 2019, as the top-seeded player, Joey faced a heartbreaking loss to Skee-Ball Kid in the finals. But just when the world of arcade games seemed to be taking a backseat due to the global pandemic, opportunity knocked in 2021. Invited by Barstool Sports for a post-pandemic title match against his previous rival, Joey played with unparalleled skill and focus, clinching the title once more as the world's #1 Skee-Ball player.

Today, Joey's legacy is not just defined by his competitive accolades. With nearly 40 locations showcasing his curated collection of arcade games, his influence in the arcade world is indisputable. But Joey isn't one to rest on his laurels. Drawing from his love for various arcade games and his competitive journey, he birthed a fresh and innovative idea: a game show that blends interactive fun with fierce competition in a format the world has never seen before. This is the story of Joey the Cat, a legend in the arcade realm, and the visionary behind the Meow Mobile Mania game show.
